Whole wheat pasta with peas and green sauce with walnuts
Serves 3
300 gr whole wheat spaghetti or your favorite pasta
1 cup of young peas (the ones sold frozen at D1 are very good)
¾ cup of green sauce with walnuts
Parmesan cheese to taste
Preparation
1. Take a pot with plenty of salted water and cook the pasta. (do not add oil)
2. When it's ready, drain it but reserve some of the water for the sauce.
3. Cook the peas with a little salt. If they are young peas, they take about 5 minutes after boiling. Drain.
4. In the pot you used, mix the pasta, peas, and sauce. Add about 3-4 tablespoons of the reserved pasta water to make it lighter.
5. Serve with a little Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Tip: this sauce has a slight acidity, so you can add cherry tomatoes, broccoli or any vegetable of your preference, you can also make it with a little shredded chicken.
